I'm Jakub Grzeszczuk - an IB educator with over 8 years of experience teaching biology and environmental sciences. I hold an MSc in Microbiology from the University of Wrocław, Poland, and I've spent my career bridging the gap between academic research and hands-on classroom learning.

Originally from Poland, I moved to Qingdao, China in 2022 to join Qingdao Amerasia International School, where I teach DP Biology and DP Environmental Systems & Societies, and serve as Head of Sciences Department and MYP Coordinator.

Before that, I spent five years at the International High School of Wrocław (Poland) doing similar roles - leading the Sciences Department, coordinating curriculum, and mentoring students through their Internal Assessments and Extended Essays.

My research background includes 8 coauthored patents in steroid biotransformation and published papers in journals like PLOS ONE, Microbial Cell Factories, and Nature Scientific Reports. I'm fascinated by how fungi can transform complex molecules - and I bring that curiosity into every lesson.

Outside of work, I love public speaking (I've given a TEDx talk on optimistic nihilism and gratitude), exploring emerging tech, and building things with code. I also have a soft spot for camp memories - I was a summer camp counselor in the US as a teenager, and that experience shaped how I approach mentorship.
